Monotypes are fine art prints, each one is an original.
My process is a combination of drawing and painting and printing.
First, colored inks are applied in layers with brushes and rollers onto a plexiglass plate. When the work is complete, the image on the plate is transfered by printing press onto a sheet of handmade paper. This transfer produces the reverse order of color layers as well as the reverse image, creating effects that are unique to a monotype.
