The murals are picture stories, images imbedded in clay, then transformed into rock by the process of fire.
Clay is first formed into long slabs, placed on an easel and shaped into modular units. Using a pencil, I carve and draw images into the soft surface.
Many thin layers of mineral pigment create the earth color and varied texture.
When dry, sections are kiln fired to cone 10, changing the soft clay into vitrified rock.
